Sepro attended this year’s MINExpo 2024

September 24-26, 2024 Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Thanks for showing up to our booth at the event! Visitors to our booth learned about the E100 Pump as well as the new Frontier series of gravity concentrators.

  • We showcased the revolutionary new E100 pump in person
  • We had a FR5200 Frontier Bowl at the site
  • We had a Ball Mill at the stand, as well as 3D printed models of our FR5200 and E100 machines
  • We introduced the Frontier Bowl Replacement Parts Program
  • We re-introduced Sepro Rotary Products: Agglomerators, Grinding Mills, and Scrubbers

Learn more about the E100 Pump!

The E100 preproduction pump was installed in an industrial plant in August 2024 where Sepro peristaltic pumps have a 9-year history of operation.  The E100 pump reaches a steady state operating temperature about 15 Degrees above ambient whereas a predecessor shoe-type pump previously installed in the same duty operated at about 30 degrees above ambient.  In addition, lower power draw has been confirmed. Learn more about the Frontier Series

Sepro produced a Frontier bowl that fit as a direct replacement part in a Knelson™ XD48 gravity concentrator. The bowl was installed at a gold mine in North America currently operating two Knelson™ XD48 gravity concentrators with the standard Knelson™ riffle profile.

Tests were run on each bowl over two days, using the standard plant settings for feed rate, bowl speed, fluidization flow rate, and concentration cycle times. The standard Knelson™ bowl achieved a cyclone overflow grade of 11.0 g/t Au while the Sepro Frontier bowl reduced the cyclone overflow grade to 5.8 g/t Au, a 47% improvement. This resulted in a 3x improvement in gravity gold recovery. Read more here.

Steve McAlister

Director

Steve McAlister obtained an Honours degree in Civil Engineering in 1971 from Queen’s University and worked throughout Eastern Canada on heavy construction projects until moving to Abbotsford, BC in 1978. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Exposure to placer mining while working on heavy construction projects in the Yukon led to a hobby of developing centrifugal concentration technology through the early 1980’s. In 1986, he founded Falcon Concentrators Inc. Under his guidance, Falcon developed and commercialized three centrifuge-based technologies that have expanded the range of application of gravity concentration to include ultra fine particles. Steve was also instrumental in recruiting an outstanding team of managers and engineers that have enabled Falcon to grow and prosper. Falcon became Sepro Mineral Systems Corp in 2008 after acquiring Sepro Mineral Processing International in the UK. Steve continues to serve on Sepro’s Board of Directors. Steve enjoys his grandchildren, golf and fishing as well as puttering with new inventions.
